Midnight Margarita

 

I can’t resist a frozen margarita. One of my favorite movies includes a scene in which they make Midnight Margaritas and dance around the kitchen. I even created a hoodie + tee with the words from their recipe here.

 
 
Midnight Margarita
 
 

Elements

2 C Silver Tequila

1-1/2 C Cointreau or Triple Sec

1-1/2 C Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 C Simple Syrup (1 C Organic Cane Sugar, 1 C Water, Boiled and Cooled)

4 - 6 Lime Wedges

Coarse Sea Salt

Ice

Directions

  1. In the jar of a blender, add tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec, and lime juice; fill blender jar with ice.

  2. Blend on high until mixture is completely smooth.

  3. In a small plate, add sea salt and moisten the rim of a margarita glass with juice from a lime wedge; dip moistened rim into sea salt to coat.

  4. Add one jigger on simple syrup to each glass (1-1/2 ounces) and top with frozen margarita mixture.

  5. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve at midnight by the full moon.
